Here are some of the diary and photo pages which have made this site so popular in the past couple of years. If you're reading these for the first time, and you have A LOT of time, you should start with the 2000 diaries.
- 2012 - Sorry, I'm working on a planting book which will be based loosely on the 2012 season, so I'm not actually publishing diaries from this year. You'll have to buy the book. Don't expect it to be available until late 2013, unfortunately.
- 2011 - A better season this year, as the economy was starting to recover. We planted about 4.7 million trees, and had a decent number of planting days for the first time in a few years.
- 2010 - A short season this year. We only planted about 3.6 million trees, as the economy continued punishing the reforestation industry. But at least I have five photo galleries to look at.
- 2009 - This page contains planting diaries for 2009, plus four photo galleries. We planted about 4.25 million trees this year, which was impressive considering the poor shapes that the economy was in.
- 2008 - This page contains planting diaries for the summer of 2008, plus five photo galleries. We planted about 4.8 million trees this year, which was a slightly shorter season than the last several summers.
- 2007 - This page contains planting diaries plus six photo galleries. We planted almost 5.3 million trees again this year, with work in Kamloops (BC), Edson (Alberta), Robb (Alberta), Hinton (Alberta), and Lac La Biche (Alberta).
- 2006 - This page contains planting diaries plus five photo galleries. We planted about 5.3 million trees this year, with work in Quesel (BC), Swan Hills (Alberta), Edson (Alberta), Robb (Alberta), and Hinton (Alberta).
- 2005 - This page contains planting diaries plus five photo galleries. We planted almost 6.3 million trees this year, with work in Kamloops (BC), Slave Lake (Alberta), Edson (Alberta), Swan Hills (Alberta), Hinton (Alberta), and Vanderhoof (BC). Another record-breaking summer.
- 2004 - This page contains planting diaries plus six photo galleries. We planted 4.6 million trees this year, with work in Vanderhoof (BC), Edson (Alberta), and Fort St. James (BC).
- 2003 - This page contains planting diaries plus six photo galleries. It was our biggest summer ever with 5.1 million trees planted. We worked in Vanderhoof (BC), Hinton (Alberta), Fox Creek (Alberta), Whitecourt (Alberta), and Fort St. James (BC).
- 2002 - This page contains planting diaries plus five photo galleries. We planted 4.1 million trees this year, with work in just two areas, namely Prince George (BC) and Edson (Alberta).
- 2001 - This page contains planting diaries plus seven photo galleries. Thanks to the new digital video camera, I managed to get a lot more photos in 2001 than in previous years. This year we planted about 4.2 million trees, with work in Vanderhoof (BC), Prince George (BC), Fox Creek (Alberta), and Swan Hills (Alberta),
- 2000 - This page has my first full-blown summer diaries plus a number of photo pages, taken from my summer 2000 camp with Folklore Contracting.
- 1999 - This is a photo page only, sorry, but no diaries. It shows a few dozen shots from my 1999 camp with Folklore Contracting. A lot of these are black-and-whites which look really good in person, but unfortunately, don't translate as well to the electronic medium.
- The Early Years - This is a photo page only (again, no diaries) that shows a few dozen shots from the 1990-1994 era, when I started planting and being a foreman for Tawa Enterprises. After 1991, Tawa was bought by PRT Nurseries, which had a planting program until the end of 1994. Many of the pictures are actually from my first year.
