The thing is though that the "prick" foreman wasn't trying to make our jobs harder. He enforced quality, and made us work our asses off. If we felt like being lazy, he tore a strip off us. But he certainly tried to make sure that we made more, whether it was by making our jobs easier, mak...

Some people use alcohol as a crutch. I myself tend to think of it as a wheelchair. Haha, just kidding. Sort of. My entire well-being and livelihood revolves around alcohol, eight months of the year. However, during the planting season (for the last several years anyway), I've always gone about four...

Re: What Music Do You Plant To?

My MP3 player broke halfway through the season. No great loss as far as I was concerned. It was nice to have some days, but when I looked at the fastest planters in camp, none of them listened to music. I'll be bringing a MP3 player, but I doubt I'll keep it on all day. We'll see. I'm not certain i...

Alcohol isn't required for people to be friends and hang out --- but is sometimes fun. Probably, they'll do what every other camp does. Sit around the campfire, tell stories, play cards, etcetera. That is a GENIUS idea. I had a straw hick hat that I loved dearly. Impervious to rain, the bugs land on it instead of you, sun proof, and sexy. Music is so key for me when I plant. It makes as much as a 500 tree difference in my day, I can plant without my groove. Planters come back to foremen who make them money. I had to make a choice once between two foremen.
