Companies working in NE Saskatchewan

Was wondering if anyone had some specific information about planting companies operating in North East Saskatchewan. I am assuming that Outland is working out there but was wondering if any other companies have some work around there. Looking for anything around Prince Albert and as far east as Huds...

Re: Planting on Haida Gwaii

I worked on this contract last year. Out of the 20-25 planters I think 2-3 were "local." And by local I mean hipsters from Vancouver who were hanging out on haida gwaii. Most of my buddies were going back this year so I doubt that too much has changed.

I am doing a lot of mine site reclamation this year and there has to be shovels that are better suited for this kind of work. The ground itself is pretty compact and when it gets hot...

Re: pimping out the old bags...

Anyone try putting an arcteryx pad on planting bags with 4 pouches? From the sounds of the post it seems like people have only tried it with 3.

Re: What does it take to start a planting company?

I thought a requirement to bid on contracts is that you had to successfully complete one in the past two years. Or is this just for BCTS? But you wouldn't want any of those contracts anyways. I have always been curious about how private bids work. I know a few people who have their own little shows ...

Gear Wanted

Hey,

Was wondering if anyone has some planting gear that they want to get rid of. I am looking for a set of 4 baggers, coning bags and a shovel(workwizer preferably). I am in Campbell River right now but can pay for shipping. PM me if you have some things lying around. Thanks.

Re: What makes a great foreman ?

Good topic. This is something that I have been thinking about alot lately. How important is it to have a foreman who can keep your spirits up? Just curious. This will be my first year as a foreman and right now it is the only thing that I am worried about, I am not sure if I will be able to pull thi...

What can you claim on income tax while planting?

Travelling? Motels and food on day off? Equipment? I have never really understood what you can claim during the season. Just curious what others are doing.

Re: Next Generation Reforestation (NGR)

I am looking for some info about NGR's August work. Does anyone have any info from last year? I heard that their Manning contract is still pretty decent. If so does anybody have contact info for the supervisor.

re: all rubber chalk in victoria

Hey,

I have been looking for some rubber chalks in Victoria but have been having bad luck. Does anyone know a work boot store in Victoria other than Viberg's, they are closed for the long weekend.

Thanks

Re: 2011 Bid Results

I am a little confused the way bidding works. From what I understand from this thread lowest bidder takes all trees. But in many cases aren't there several companies working on the same contract? Does the contractor just have multiple bids or do they take say the lowest three bidders(just an example...
