Re: Dogs on blocks? Pros , Cons, Ideas?
do people even have dogs any more? it seems like people bring some hairy four legged creature that barks, shits, pees, and is treated more like a spoiled toddler than a dog. there used to be more good dogs in the bush than there were bad dogs. now it seems like the worst dogs belong to treeplanters....

planting bonaparte plateau used to be the shit. then the prices went to shit. weyehaeuser wanted to bring down costs and encouraged large treeplanting contractors like coast range. and maybe some of the other big ones, celtic summit and folklore are there still. none the less it was some of the easi...

Re: If you would have to kill....
i've had 3 close cougar encounters, and a couple more sightings from the truck. one may have been stalking for a while when i was planting and another for a couple of days while on a backpacking trip. cougar encounters and sightings are rare, but are becoming more and more common. any wild animal co...

Re: Pre-season training
first. get dressed up in your favorite planting attire. put your boots on. make sure you get a small rock in one boot. maybe both if you're hard core. put some pine pitch and dirt in your panties. feel good? now load your planting bags up with about 30lbs of rocks, bricks, weights, two babies, whate...

Re: Should Planters Wear Hardhats?
climbing helmets aren't ok with all licensees on the island. you can also try a "bump" cap. it's a smaller hard hat. some island checkers will let you get away with them. i don't where a hard hat when i go for a walk in the forest on my own time. i don't wear one beetle probing. not survey...

Re: Should Planters Wear Hardhats?
ok. i like wearing my hard hat when i'm running chainsaw. it totally makes sense when you're knocking down trees and thrashing thru the bush. even safety glasses. but where has all the common sense gone when it comes to planting?
