planters got it pretty easy We all have to pitch in if we want a smooth ride This is the Rhino mentality. It isn't a co-op, and you aren't compensated for all the illegal, dangerous, and humiliating shit they make you do. It's been 5 years since I planted for them, and I haven't seen anything remot...

This piece reads like propoganda for the shittiest companies in the industry to keep people working there. Nailed it. I saw this piece of shit floating around the mess tent up north during summer trees. No wonder they hardly hire any outside planters. It's the same reason North Korea keeps outsider...

What the fuck were they thinking? Bids like this are insulting at best. They have zero experience in this area and decide to underbid by such a large margin.. Is everyone taking crazy pills?Scooter wrote: I believe that Evergreen did this job last year for 44.0 cents.

Good points Aaron. It probably was too early for me to judge how effective a supervisor is at his/her job. I wouldn't go back, but it was decent enough for a second year planter and good enough for most rookies if they don't get pushed around too much. I wouldn't trust Mark to set up a camp though. ...

Wanted: Workwizer in Victoria
Im looking for a short-mid height workwizer with an asymmetrical blade near Victoria.
Preferably new or very lightly used. Would also buy a pair of bags too if they were cheap and not beaten up too badly.
Thanks,
Matt

How safe is spraying?
I have a job lined up spraying for Spectrum after spring planting, but I'm hesitant to do it because I'm unsure how safe it is. I've heard they use Round-Up, which is a fairly dangerous chemical despite all their advertising.. Does anyone have any experience spraying or have any factual knowledge re...

I was using a natural citronella blend and lavender blend two years ago that worked well enough for a moderate amount of bugs. You just had to reapply every bagup. So it didnt really last all that long. You also end up smelling so strongly of lemon and citronella at the end of day. Which i happened ...

I cant seem to find a d-handle shovel on workwizer's website, they're all sold out. Do any places in Victoria sell shovels?
EDIT: I figured it out.. you have to pick your parts separately. They still dont seem to have a symmetrical 8.5inch blade though.

You could get one of those nike plus doodads too. Those measure at least some of those. And you can stick it in your boot.

I just remembered a bunch of unsafe shit that happened at Rhino and needed to be told. Rhino uses crew vans as everyone knows, and they get worn pretty ragged by the end of a season. Heres a follow-up on the Scarpa Invernos. For 320$, it was a good investment. If you can, grab a used pair because these can go through hell and function perfectly fine. I logged 45 planting days on these boots and they have many scratches throughout with some minor wear on the soles. The way the la...

I used the big orange caulked vikings last year and I dont recommend them. The only real benefit is the ability to walk on wet logs.
