After reading this thread a while back, I decided to give them a try. I specifically bought them to see if my ankles would be less sore after running on the treadmill. The store owner is a runner, and he said that he only uses them for flying. But he was interested in my feedback after a few runs. T...

I'd say try a Fitbit.
Reason I say that, is my wife has one, and her and her friends are set up for online competitions. It makes it fun for them. That's all I really know about them. It motivates her knowing that someone walked more than her or climbed more steps.

Great thread. I'd like to see the road deactivation/pulling culverts done after the blocks are planted. I know it's cheaper to do it when the loggers are there, but it creates a hazard for us. The last time I did Vexar maintenance I found an area where someone pounded the treeline. Cones everywhere, like plots of 12 all planted nice and properly hidden in the forest behind blow down and root wads.

I like to eat simple in camps. Some of the places I work the cooks try to get too fancy and sometimes the guys won't eat it. You could tell because the garbage cans fill up quicker.

Another possibility if EI is cut and workers leave is that tree prices would be forced to go up due to decreased supply of planters. If tree prices go up substantially (which they would if supply of planters is cut) it may draw back workers who are willing to make $500+ / day (or whatever amount) e...

I've used that one, and didn't like it at all. I've never had a stake bag fit right. I think they should have an aluminum frame so they don't flip from one side of your neck/back to the other.
That's just me though. I'm thinking frame because then I could bungee the stakes so they don't shift. And I don't like weight on my hips.

Yes you can get let go(not really fired, technically) if you are with a new employer (or an old employer) and they hire you on starting with a probationary period of whatever time amount. True. You are not guaranteed a spot if you go to bootcamp. It's part of the hiring process. And you still have to pass the pack test at bootcamp. I heard that its good to get into an early bootcamp, as the last one is later in the spring, and it can get quite hot in that area.
