unless you get a block with even occasional spots of blue flowers, then it starts getting confusing. we had some of those last year, but 99% of the time this isn't an issue.

Hmm, interesting. Well if fuel costs remain unexpectedly low, and there's lots of extra trees offered towards the end of the season, maybe there will be some lucrative blocks. Easier to get raises as well.

what's tough is if you're asked to plant stumps, and the density they ask for is just a bit lower or higher than the natural placement of the trees. on the other hand stump planting can be very lucrative if the density is dead on, then it's prepped ground. that is, if there's actually soil. so yeah ...

i think one must also keep in mind what your neighbors prefer, especially if you're not flagging much for yourself. ask the person who's following your line if they can see your purple flagging, and if you didn't bring any other colours and it's invisible to them, at least use bigger pieces and flag...

Great point, never really thought about the width aspect too much, when initially grinding down a new blade. Although last time I bought a workwizer i didn't do any grinding, just filed it sharp. Which does take a while but hey, you get better at sharpening. Are the newer thicker workwizers the same...

I on the other hand would highly recommend daily filing. By the end of my planting career I was getting less lazy about it because I noticed the difference, especially on rooty ground.
