First, it's really important to ask your employer "all the right questions" at the very beginning of a job. This includes asking about vacation pay, camp costs, pay schedules all that. This is not to say in any way that non-compliance is okay as long as people agree to it....it's not........

I agree with Coaster, generally speaking. It's not important whether vacation pay is included in the tree price or added on top, as long as the contractor is upfront about how it's calculated. It would be easier if it was standardized, but that just doesn't seem likely.
