Company Review

Post by Poschmann »

I worked with Extreme doing layout for a brushing contract through Puck in Golden, BC in 1999. The layout took a little longer than expected and I was paid more than a fair wage for my efforts. I also caught a ride back from Golden to Prince George with the owner, (I believe his name was Chris also) so I did get the chance to get to know him and he is a solid character and I would certainly work for him again in the future. They are a smaller company and I'm not sure how much of their season is spent planting but they do work year round doing various silviculture work so they are certainly a good company to work for if they have a place for you.

The mail that I sent to Extreme a couple weeks ago just got sent back to me as being an invalid address. Their former website is down, and when I tried to access that domain, it took me to a porn site. I'll try to get in touch with Mark Teasdale and find out what is going on with Extreme, but it is possible that they aren't planting this year.

Extremly Finished

Extreme has been toast for 2 seasons now. The old owner works at Red Rock nursery now, I think. My crew planted his last job, a woodlot near P.G., before spending the rest of the season with Silvaram.

From what I understand, Extreme IS still in operation on a limited basis. They only plant a few hundred thousand trees at the very most, and it may be Mark who is working by himself now. I think his emphasis is more on the non-planting site of the silviculture industry now, like spacing, brushing, etc.

More info if I ever run into Mark ...
