getting a shovel altered

Post by siapatakut »

My old shovel has finally shrunk to something smaller than an eating utensil, so it's time for a new one. I'm a big fan of the old school wooden shaft & steel blade shovels, but the blade needs to be cut down for sure.

I'm wondering... does anyone have a clue whom I could go to for such an alteration in a city like Montreal? I'm not much a fan of doing it myself (power tools are terrifying) ... nor do I have the equipment. Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Julia

Any machine shop can usually help you out, one summer I went to my old high school and had a shop student do it for me.

Any welding shop in any town.

Just walk in and ask. I've done it three times, only been charged once. It literally takes them 1 minute to do.
