Cool product for Smartphones & Tablets.

Post by TyrellC »

Hey guys. I was looking into a product that is handy to have while treeplanting for my iPhone and tablet.
I just picked this up today from my local electronics shop, it's called a Juice Pack.
I wrote about it here: http://tysblog.net/technology-tree-planting.

I'll be using my iPhone as an alarm, so I had to make sure it wasn't going to die on me at night... This seems to be a good find to help me out.

to use one overnight for an alarm - if you are out where cell phone service cuts in and out a lot, turn the phone function off. use 'airplane mode', as it is called on some devices. when a phone is constantly trying to connect to a signal tower, it drains the battery faster.

Yes. And even if you're in an area with strong cell service, it's easier on the battery to just go to airplane mode overnight.

I saved my old dumbphone for exactly this purpose. Now it is nothing more than an alarm clock (and occasionally a calculator). On airplane mode and literally only using it once per day, I charge it on the day off and it's good for the 4 day shift.
