Crummies

This one is pretty self-explanatory. This part of the forums is specifically intended to collect health, safety, training, and related information. Unsafe Is Unacceptable.

Crummies

Post by Scooter »

I don't want to take away from the impact of your message Mike, well put, but I will clarify one thing:
old vehicles --- hell, there are crummies still on the road for no reason I can discern
Some of those crummies are 2014 and 2015 trucks.

I thought it was illegal to put together new crummies, and the only ones on the road were ones that got grandfathered in?

I'll ask about that when I get up north. My guess is that you may be partially correct. It may be that new crummies aren't being manufactured, but the crummy part sits on top of a regular 450 or 550. So if there is a grandfathering clause, they're probably still allowed to switch the vehicle underneath.

But who knows. I may be incorrect. I'll try to find out.

I thought the grandfathering clause was for the license plates associated with the crummies, though you might want to remove these posts and put it in a thread called crummies before we distract from this conversation too much.

I'll do that. The plates change on all the trucks every year, at least they do at the major company that I work for. We only insure trucks from mid-April to mid-August.
