An engineer marking trees for a logging company ran into Momma-G and her cub. His defensive techniques are interesting. Played dead, but when that didn't suffice, he went on his back, and kicked out using his caulks. I guess 23 tungsten spikes to the face was enough to deter Momma-G in this case.
Take-aways from this one, keep your caulks sharp! Carry a compress bandage! Make lots of noise so you don't need to use these items to deal with bear attacks.
Glad the guy survived. Meanwhile the international press is having a field day because some pretty-boy Aussie surfer got close to a shark. FFS.
