Re: Ogoki Nights 3 - Montreal
Last year the Ogoki Nights 2 was really good, highly recommended. Good venue, great performances.
Re: Ogoki Nights 3 - Montreal
Hah! I was just about to make a post about this! Nice one Scooter. :)
The photos are mine, from my first year planting Ogoki.
If anyone wants any more info:
Theatre Sainte Catherine is run by former planters, the play is written by a former planter/foreman and a few of the cast are former planters as well. The original Ogoki Nights ran quite a few years back, but by popular request, was rerun with some new faces two years ago. The second followed last year, with a slightly shorter version also played through for the Brinkman xmas party which was held at the theatre.
Be prepared for the best kind of gong show theatre performance you can imagine about planting, followed by at least one all nighter afterparty for whoever wants to stick around.
Also of note, it is not frowned upon to be rowdy in a mostly supportive manner during the play, last year pretty much the entire crowd booed jro on a number of nights, and sang along to "just another bag up Ogoki...."
I live two blocks away, I'll probably see some of you there.

Re: Ogoki Nights 3 - Montreal
One of my good friends played "Oulette" in this play. We had a great time. Incredible effort on the part of everybody involved. Absolutely hilarious all the way through, full of all sorts of industry-specific inside jokes, but still hilarious to anybody who's not familiar with the life. Too bad I found this thread just now, as it's not showing anymore, but if they do it again next year, it's an absolute must see for anybody living in Montreal.

It's happening. They are filming right now.
I wish I'd had the wherewithall when they were still looking for funds to post this, as maybe some of you woulda thrown a shotgun their way....
Anyways, check it out, they're making it a movie!

If anyone is in MTL and wants a chance to see the movie that was made, Theatre Ste Catherine is screening it on Feb 3
