Here's a video produced by WorkSafe BC that sheds light on an accident a few years ago that claimed the life of a person whom many planters on this board knew and worked with.
Unfortunately, it's a grim reminder that there's no substitute for proper training. Friends of the person who died in this incident will not want to watch this video, knowing how preventable the incident was. I've been hand-falling trees on almost a daily basis for the past three months, and it's obvious that the worker made some very poor judgement calls. That makes the whole situation even tougher to think about.
