This work is especially suited for people with a couple years of experience in Ontario, who want to make the transition to planting in western Canada.
The ground that my camp is working is generally quite easy, so it offers a simple transition for planters with experience in Ontario. If you have tons of experience and are looking for highly technical ground, there are better options elsewhere. If you're seeking a long season and a place to build your experience, in a camp-based environment with good equipment and facilities, this is a great option.
For perspective about earnings potential, our first-year planters who worked a full season in 2023 (no more than 5 missed days) had average gross earnings of $24,181. Experienced planters were obviously able to earn significantly more. I expect to potentially have about 80-82 planting days this season.
