Which company should I work for?

Post by alrightok »

If I have a choice between 2 months with Coast range in BC and 3 months with Outland in Ontario, which is the better choice?
I'd be heading out from Toronto and I have one year of experience planting in Northern Ontario.
Can anyone give insight into these 2 companies? And which would be more worthwhile?

I've never worked in Ontario, but I'd say the experience you'd get in BC would be worthwhile. Plus you may be able to jump onto a summer contract somewhere at the end?

How about neither. Coast range will give you BC experience but check their reputation in the industry including their safety record. Outland in Ontario is better run than Outland in Alberta. More experienced management out there and seemingly a longer season. Personally, I would attempt to contact a larger BC company. Sometimes people drop out late in the spring and you might luck out. Especially, if you already have a season of planting experience.
