I'm not going to get into any details at the moment, but I'll comment that the victim was not a tree planter, as this and many other articles originally stated. Yes, it happened close to a planting site, and some planters were involved in trying to assist. However, the victim worked for a support company (a helicopter company). The helicopter that responded to the Mayday call to attempt to rescue her was the one that my crew was using at the time.

The fact that the victim wasn't a planter doesn't change the fact that wildlife encounters can be very dangerous. And that's a story that is definitely worth focusing on. Thanks for sharing the article.
